Monster Golf Drivers 2009
is the sixth driver that I buy, though - oddly enough - is only the second again. The first was a Callaway Big Bertha 1995, whose head was left on the day before a race: I still have in the library, and I watch every now and then as you look at the picture as we were. Six drivers in six years and a little more: it will be because, as my friend Stefan, after a race where you've played badly putt go to buy a new driver? :-)
The first thing that struck me is the look in this Cleveland, but this had happened long before you buy it. For months I have seen in the storefronts, and I liked that elongated and sinuous. (The address of this blog contains the phrase "legno3" because when I looked for a name, and all I could think of had already been taken, I recently bought a timber of the same series and even though I could not control it I was fascinated its elongated shape.)
The second thing that struck me was the size of the head. My previous driver was a few years ago, the difference is immediately jumped eye.
The third thing that struck me - hard! - Was the noise it makes, especially in covered positions of the driving range, where I was when I unlined the first time. My poor right eardrum! Moreover this fact is reported in virtually all reviews (ie: someone wrote the first time, and a host of other bloggers have copied).
Impressions of use: I had to take my hand, because the first slice of the shots tended to be quite pronounced. Solution: Close your left hand to counteract this trend with the draw. It worked, and now - at a distance of about ten of days from the first time I picked up - I do 190-210 meters of flight. That may not sound like much in itself, but considering that is done in January, with the balls of the driving range and repetitive manner so as to be almost boring to some satisfaction ...
In essence, this driver my exam (very personal opinion) has passed with flying colors.
